Monster GTR love it...

The GTR has been nicknamed the “Godzilla” of the import world. The GTR you’re feasting your eyes on, owned by Claude, is on the path to becoming a truly amazing machine. He has already made this car look sleek but also kept close to the GTR’s bodylines that it was originally born with.

Stanced GTR on ADV1 wheelsClaude’s love for Japanese cars all started back in the 90’s with a Nissan 300zx. Since then he’s had multiple Nissan’s and Infiniti’s and then in 2008 he saw his first GTR and fell in love. In July of the following year, he received his Ivory White GTR and was fully content with just leaving it the way it came out of the factory. After being coerced by his son and Chris Yi, who owns a local performance shop, Claude decided that his GTR needed to be a little closer to the earth and that was going to be it.

Now he is out to build a GTR that not only gets noticed but one that will turn the head of every individual at a show. Claude is currently orchestrating a two stage build to get him to his goal. The completion of stage 1 is how it sits now, and next up will be performance and will mostly end with this GTR screaming through the streets when he stomps on the gas.

I’m sure the next time we see his GTR it will truly be a force to be reckoned with as he will be making sure that this thing is living up to the Godzilla nickname it has been given.

Form & Function

Today we’re taking you to a country we very much admire and love, Japan. This feature has been in the works for weeks now, not only because of the 5000+ miles that are between us but also the language barrier. What’s important is that we finally have just enough information and photos to share with you all, our awesome fans. You’re looking at Tetsuya’s 1991 Honda NSX that he tracks every chance he gets. Hard to believe that a car that’s over 20 years of age can still give run for the money to some of the best sports cars in this day of age, whether it’s form or function. If this Japanese icon doesn’t satisfy your “form & function” cravings, we seriously do not know what will.

Photos by: Tetsuya

You won’t find much aftermarket stuff under the hood (err trunk rather) as Tetsuya seems to be pretty happy with the power and throttle response that came out of the box. He did do a couple of things such as adding a Fujitsubo exhaust manifold and some one-of Route KS piping. You can’t miss that Route KS Titanium single exhaust coming out of the rear end either. Hit the Read More button to see what we’re talking about. Check out this awesome shot above that Tetsuya himself took just for us!

If the above image doesn’t quite satisfy you and you want to take a closer look at the interior, hit theRead More button below. A clean set of SPARCO EVO×2 sweats never looked this good. We really still can’t get over the fact that this is a 20+ year old vehicle! For the suspension, Tetsuya went with the Buddy Club Racing Spec kit and mounted a set of Rays CE28N. Check out all of the specs below.
It’s sitting on Rays CE28N in 17×9 (offset +18 with a 15mm adapter) up front and 18×10.5 (offset +22 with a 15mm adapter) in the rear. Tetsuya also wrapped those sexy Volks in a set of Potenza RE-11 tires sized 215/40R17 and 255/35R18. Scroll down for some sick exterior shots that showcase the amazing Route KS widebody that this NSX is rocking. We’re talking a $7,000 + body kit that replaces literally every piece of the stock NSX body.

The kid is made by Route KS (out of Japan obviously) and is named “Madonna”. That’s right, Madonna! It widened the NSX about an inch on each side and has given it quite an angry look. Tetsuya didn’t just stop there however, he also added a Route KS rear wing and their extremely awesome dry carbon hood. Last but not least, GT-ROM Rear Diffuser was put on to set everything off just right. We really can’t thank Tetsuya enough for wanting to share his beautiful monster with rest of the world.

We would like to thank Tetsuya and our good friend Anju for making this feature possible. We know that a a few of you fitment guys may criticize the wheel gap on this ride, and as a “fitment site” we’re here to tell you that you can have a good looking ride even if it has a slight wheel gap. Drop a comment below and feel free to let Tetsuya know how you feel about his ride. He’ll be reading all of your comments!

Subbie Fake Stance!!!

Sticking to what we do best, it is once again time to make a quick stop in Hawaii. This tiny state in the middle of nowhere has shown us numerous times that they have what it takes to build quality cars. Form, function, or both, whatever you are into, Hawaii has it. Meet Charles and his incredibly fitted Subaru STI. Daily driven, static and absolutely slammed! We’ve seen many STI’s in our time and only a handful are doing it as well as this one is, if that. Charles is here to prove to you that you don’t need the widest set of wheels or sit closest to the ground to look good. It’s all about knowing what you’re doing. Thankfully Charles agreed to show us how it’s done, so sit back and enjoy!

Photos By: Emil Corpuz exclusively

Living this “low lifestyle” certainly came with a price for Charles. One of the biggest issues he has had is the cracking of the rear fender flares. He tells us that he has gone through three different sets of flares already! It’s pretty obvious by now that he is starting to get used to it, as upon further look at the flares in these photos we noticed that they’re cracked again. However, seeing a photo as the one aboveeasily makes up for it! This thing is so wide and low it actually looks as if it was planted into the ground. We’re sure you’ll appreciate some specs of it’s fitment so we’ll include that below for you.

Where do we even start? How about that sexy exterior? Seeing how the front lip is just mm’s away from the ground and takes a beating 24/7, Charles settled for a V-Limited replica one. We’re not sure why nor are we going to question it, but he also swapped his sideskirts with ones from a WRX. It looks clean and simple, that’s all we know! Lastly, a Tow Hook was added and a set of JDM Rain Guards for that “finishing” touch. Just like many cars out there, it doesn’t take much besides a nice drop and wheels to make it look REALLY good. STI’s definitely fall in that category in our opinion. Hit the Read Morebutton for more photos and some spec #’s of the incredible fitment you see below!

As you can tell it’s more than just a simple mounting of wheels to achieve the fitment above. Camber, offset, width, height, stretch, the list goes on. Charles’ wheel of choice were the famous Work Emotion XD9′s. They were given to him by his awesome wife when they got engaged. They are 18×10 all around with a +10 offset wrapped in a nicely stretched 225/35 Nankang NS2 tires. He wanted to bring out more detail from the wheel area then so he added some Project Kics NeoChrome lug nuts. For his suspension, it took more than just the Stance LX+ coilovers. White line Camber/Toe, Lateral Links, Perrin rear end links, a set of SPC camber bolts, GTSpec front strut bar, and Cusco Rear strut bar are just a few things we can name. With that said, we can imagine this thing handling pretty well when driven hard. With many go-fast goodies under it’s hood, we’re certain that this car has an even wilder side than what we see in these photos. Oh you STI owners, you never disappoint!

We told you this thing puts down some decent power to the ground, but how specifically? Stock Motor & Turbo..then comes all the fun. RS*R Turboback Exhaust, Tomei UEL Headers, Tomei Up-Pipe, APS Turbo Inlet Pipe, K&N Short Ram Intake, PnP TGV Deletes (Heat Coated), Grimmspeed 8mm Phenolic Spacers, Grimmspeed 3-Port EBCS, Warlboro 255lph Fuel Pump, HKS BOV, tuned by Matt of 555 Motorsports, Gtspec Radiator Shroud, Kakumei CF Alternator Cover, Kakumei Hood Dampers and lastly an External Fuel Filter. Here is our message for you Charles; We’re very jealous!

Before we wrap things up, we would like to thank Charles and his wife, also our incredible photographer Emil Corpuz. Let’s not forget the I-club.com and one of our favorite forums, the wrongfitmentcrew! We’re as honored as we can be and we hope you enjoy this Subaru as much as we do. Like always, we’ll leave you with some more photos for your viewing pleasures.
